António José Félix Pontes is the General Representative in Macau of the Greater Bay Area Impact Forum Foundation (GBAIFF) and member of its Regional Advisory Board. Currently, he is also a member of the Macau Basic Law Association and the Advisory Board of the Macau Management Association (MMA), ‘Adjunct Assistant Professor in Practice’ at the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Macau and ‘Distinguished Professor’ at the Faculty of Finance of the City University of Macau.
Additionally, he is ‘Honorary Advisor’ of the ‘Hong Kong Institute of Bankers’ (HKIB), ‘Honorable Advisor’ of the Macau Insurance Industry Professionals Association (MIIPA), Deputy President of the General Assembly of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Macau and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Anima – Macao Animal Protection Society. Finally, he is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Banco Well Link and a founding partner of FnA Consultoria Financeira e Seguradora Limitada.
For over 35 years (1980-2015) he worked at the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM), including 25 years as Director and ‘Insurance Commissioner’. Representing AMCM, he was Chairman of the Board of the Macau Financial Education Institute (IFF), from the date of incorporation of this entity, in March 2002, until May 29, 2020 (18 years old). In the past, he also served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Macau (1991-1999), as President of the International Association of Insurance Fraud Agencies (IAIFA) (three years) and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Basic Law of Macau (1997- 1999).
He holds three academic qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in finance, a master’s degree in management (‘Master Business Administration’-MBA) and a postgraduate diploma in finance (‘Advanced Diploma in Finance’).
As decorations and other relevant titles, he received the Medal of Dedication, awarded by the last Governor of Macau, the ‘Loren Dunton Award’, given by the ‘International Association of Registered Financial Consultants’ (IARFC), and the ‘Certified Banker’, awarded by the ‘Hong Kong Institute of Bankers’ (HKIB).
